“KID-SAFE” YOUR COMPUTER

A great way to control internet use is through NetComputerGuy’s Kid-Safe Package. Like a vigilant lifeguard, our software cuts off internet access at times of the day and week parents specify. It also secretly emails you a report of websites visited by your kids. Certain website addresses can be entered that are automatically off limits and it’s password protected. It records all Instant Messenger chat conversations for AOL (AIM), and Yahoo Messengers. Now you can know who your kids are chatting with to ensure that they are not communicating with strangers.

Kid-Safe Package provides over 30 categories of filtering making it the most complete Internet filter available. Filters are updated automatically, and there are no subscription charges. A sophisticated "content recognition" system recognizes and blocks new objectionable web sites. Let us come to your location and install it for just $99. When you’ve become worried about the places and people on the internet that your child has access to, call or
email us to install your Kid-Safe Package.

TIPS ABOUT THE NET FOR PARENTS

COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR KIDS ABOUT THE INTERNET

1) Talk to them often about the dangers of irresponsible internet use.
Don’t assume they remember unless you tell them frequently not to give out personal information such as home address, personal routines, phone numbers, etc. Teach them that some people are criminals and will try to fool them. Tell them not to believe everything they hear or see on the internet. Direct them to wholesome sites like ZoogDisney.com, Nickelodeon.com, etc.

2) Set limits on the use of the computer.
Establish times that are off limits for computer use. Discuss more or less computer time based on how well kids meet their responsibilites of home and school. Computer time is a great motivator to some kids for good behavior.

3) Encourage kids to use the computer for research and learning, not just for games.
Learning how to fix and program computers is a valuable skill for adult life. Using the computer for research and reports is where the business world is heading. Spend time exploring science, art, travel and history with them.

4) Check out these Search Engine pages, made for children’s use:

KidsClick!
Backed by librarians, KidsClick lists about 5,000 web sites in various categories.
